This presentation focuses on the greatest impact of reducing accidents and injuries by identifying and eliminating unsafe acts and conditions.
The session addresses the definition of an accident, hidden costs of accidents, near-miss incidents, identifying unsafe acts and conditions, people related causes of injuries, at risk behaviors, mental overload/preoccupation, and workplace complacency.
This session will cover the recent changes to the Hazard Communication Standard covering how HazCom aligns with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) used in 67 other nations. As an employer you need to know what this means to your organization, what you need to do, and when key elements need to be in place.
The session covers the changes to the hazard classification system, labeling requirements, new Safety Data Sheet format, and what information and training needs to be provided to employees. These changes affect all manufacturers, distributors, importers, employers, and employees.
